About Nass
Nasser Bouzida is a British musician, songwriter, Producer, artist and filmmaker whose career span is more than three decades. Best known as cofounder and front man And principal songwriter of acclaimed Hammond organ band Big Boss Man, he has built a reputation for blending 1960s inspired funk, Latin soul, rhythm and blues, ska, Reggae and psychedelia into a distinctive And instantly recognisable sound.

Nass’s Story
Alongside Big Boss Man Nasser has developed Several acclaimed recording projects. As the Bongolian, he has released a series of instrumental albums influenced by library music cinematic soundtracks, funk and Latin jazz.
Big Boss sound explores the rich traditions of Jamaican ska rocksteady and early reggae reflecting a lifelong passion for vintage Jamaican music, he has also released solo records and his own name including albums on spin out nuggets records showcasing his love of garage rock Soul rhythm and blues and 1960s expired songwriting.
Nasser Bouzida is a self-taught musician who has been playing and composing since the ripe age of 15. He made his TV debut on Saturday Superstore when he was just 12 years old.
Starting his journey on his Mum’s pots and pans, she eventually bought him a drum kit, and he slowly started playing percussion, bass guitar, piano and keyboards, eventually moving on to production and mixing too.
Nass formed the Ska band The Loafers with his school mates when he was just 15. They backed Laurel Aitken for two years and regularly supported Desmond Dekker and Bad Manners. He has since played in groups such as Skooby, Espadrille and currently Big Boss Man (with his life-long friend Trevor Harding), in addition to The Bongolian, also recently releasing a solo Reggae/Roots/Ska album under the pseudonym Big Boss Sound.

CREATIVE PRACTICE
Be it music, art or film Nasser has a strict routine starting with getting inspiration over morning coffee, listening to albums by his musical heroes, could be Jimmy McGriff, Tito Puente or Zigaboo Modeliste. Watching Italian Giallo films by Mario Bava or flipping through an Alphonse Mucha art collection book, Focussed practice is a big part of the morning by looking at specific techniques and grooves rather than just noodling which is fun but more of a late night affair.
